About OSI Group
OSI Group has went through many name changes over the years. Originally the company was called Otto & Sons. Then the company changed its name to OSI Industries. It’s current name is, of course, OSI Group.
Otto & Sons was founded by a German-immigrant intent on serving the Chicago area. The company was first a local butchery, serving local residents to cold cuts and other food. In 1955, with the first McDonald’s restaurant being opened in Illinois, Otto & sons were greeted with an incredible opportunity. They began supplying McDonald’s with their beef patties.
After McDonald’s became Otto & Sons main client, their name was changed to OSI Industries. Now, as OSI Group, David McDonald is COO and President. The company has grown from being a small, single location butchery to an international supplier of McDonalds.
