Nabors Industries has become the world’s largest gas and oil drilling contractors. At the helm of this business stands Anthony Petrello who is the current President, and Chief Executive Officer. Since 1991, Anthony has been the dedicated leader who has kept this company at the fore front of others in the industry. Tony Petrello was formerly a lawyer with a prestigious law firm of Baker and McKenzie. Having held several leadership positions within the company of Nabors Industries, Anthony’s responsibilities included providing strategic planning initiatives.
Anthony Petrell received a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Yale University. He also holds a J. D. degree in Law from Harvard University Law School. He is married to a former New York actress named Cynthia. He and Cynthia have one daughter, Carena. Carena weighed only twenty ounces at birth due to a severe birth defect. She would be confined to a wheel chair for her entire life. Tony and his wife were hopeful of a cure for their daughter, and others who had the same disorder. Research was almost at a stand still. There was no available scientific results. It was for this reason that Tony and his wife started their charitable contributions to the Texas Children’s Hospital for research on the neurological afflictions of children. He gave $7 million dollars for this research.
Mr. Petrello serves as one of the Directors of Texas Children’s Hospital. He is also a Director of MediaOnDemand.com. While at Nabors Industries, Tony has held positions which included Chief Operating Officer, and Chairman of the Board since 2012. He has also served as Deputy Chairman from 2003 to 2012. He also served as Director of Stewart and Stevenson since 2011. He has accumulated many accolades for his leadership abilities. Patrello also has the duty of steering the company profits, and ensuring that Nabors Industries maintained it’s competitiveness in the market. Tony was motivated to philanthropy by what had happened to his daughter. He gathered his friends, and together they started a fundraising effort for the research on neurological disorders in children, and continues to be active in this endeavor.
